Small class size allows for more individual attention for each child.

Daily Schedule:
Our schedule is subject to change based on children's interest and understanding.

Discovery Centers-  40 minutes
I offer 5-7 centers related to our science theme for the week.
  • Math Center
  • Art Center
  • Fine Motor Center
  • Sensory Center
  • Building Center
  • Dramatic Play Center
  • Gross Motor Center

Discovery centers are child directed. This allows me to work with children individually rather than in a whole group.
Snack Time - 20 minutes
I offer healthy snacks that I try to correspond with the science theme as often as possible. When children finish their snack they read books until everyone is finished.
Circle Time- 25 minutes
Circle time begins with the Pledge of Allegiance. We then have our calendar routine where we talk about the month, date, day of the week, and any special events. Then we talk about the weather and dress our weather kids appropriately for the weather. We sing a few wiggle songs and then focus on our Letter of the Week. We learn what the letter looks like, how to write it, the sound it makes, and practice all of these skills. We have a counting tin full of items beginning with our letter of the week. We discuss these items and count them as we place them in the tin. We then read a book that corresponds with our letter/science theme for the week.

Arts and Crafts/ Science Experiment/ Game  - 25 minutes
We do an activity related to our letter of the week or theme. Art projects can involve painting, gluing, cutting, coloring, and many different art supplies. I encourage the children to do their best and focus on the process rather than the result.
